Established in 2003
Direct Sounds had the opportunity to provide audio and visual entertainment at a charity event in 2003 to help fund the local community hosted by members of the Lawnswood Cricket Club, Leeds. This was our first event where we used two regular household cd players and a mixer to show our passion in music.
In 2006 Direct Sounds branched out to provide club events, our knowledge in Bhangra, RnB and Bollywood allowed us to cater for a vast number of people and ensure that the music was mixed up throughout the entire night to maintain enjoyment for everyone. These club nights were called Midnite Session and originated at Leeds Metropolitan University Students Union Bar and eventually made there was in the venues within Leeds City Centre. Direct Sounds were the first to bring some well-known Bhangra artists to Leeds to perform.
2011 was the turning point for Direct Sounds where we became the resident DJs providing Bhangra, RnB and Bollywood every Saturday night at Peachy Keens Bar (formerly known as Spice Bar). The popularity of the events had people travelling into Leeds on a weekly basis from the surrounding cities. We maintained weekly events for a duration of 6 years which gave Direct Sounds the reputation of hosting the longest weekly events of its kind in Leeds with over 300 public club nights under our name.
In 2014 we starting doing to PAT testing in-house an ensure that the equipment legally safe to use prior to every event. A copy of the certificate can be sent out to any venue that requires a copy for their records. Direct Sounds were now able to provide PAT testing as a service.
During the pandemic of 2020 with Covid-19, Direct Sounds branched out further with their services to provide video and photograph restoration. Whether you require negatives scanning and printed into photographs, VHS videos converting into digital formats or you have some torn photographs Direct Sounds could restore those memories that are priceless to you.
